On this evening, artists who deal with “nature” in their works and at the same time explore artificial intelligence (AI) will discuss the following questions with various scientists: How does working with AI influence our view of nature? Which ethical and aesthetic questions arise in the artistic confrontation with AI? What is the relationship between "artificial" and "natural" intelligence?

How can we deal with migration to Germany today? What responsibilities should we assign to our state and society regarding migrants not protected under the refugee convention? Chaired by Reinhard Merkel (Hamburg) and Julian Nida-Rümelin (München), we discuss normative criteria that may guide answers to these questions from a juridical and philosophical perspective. The challenges of the 21st Century require, more than ever, the mobilization and cross-disciplinary research between the fields of art and science. The fundamental idea of this years International Conference on the Arts in Society is to create a dialogue between these two disciplines.

Maps belong to the oldest forms of human communication and thus represent an important historical record of space. Yet, maps are much more than just a visual presentation of a territory during a certain period of time, but a reflection on historical, political, religious and cultural contexts in which they were compiled.
