The Developmental Origins of Selective Trust
Social learning is widespread in animals. It reaches a zenith in the unique cumulative culture of humans. Democracy and the Rule of Law under Pressure: A Transatlantic Discussion
Voices on both sides of the Atlantic claim that “our democracy” is under threat. But what does that actually mean—and who gets to claim ownership of “our” democracy? If it belongs to everyone, how can democracy be used as a badge of identity by one side against another? When populist parties win elections, does that still count as “our” democracy?
