Im Frühjahr 2013 sind die acht Hauptbände der zweiten Abteilung der „Prosopographie der mittelbyzantinischen Zeit“ (PmbZ) erschienen. Damit liegt das monumentale Personenlexikon 21 Jahre nach Beginn der Arbeit mit insgesamt 16 Bänden vollständig vor. Schon jetzt gilt die PmbZ in Fachkreisen als ein Standardwerk, das Maßstäbe setzt. Sie wird ein unverzichtbares Arbeitsmittel für alle sein, die sich mit der Zivilisation, Geschichte und Kultur des östlichen Mittelmeerraumes im Mittelalter beschäftigen.
