Held immediately after the World Biodiversity Summit (CBD COP17, Yerevan, 19-30 October 2026), this forum explores how COP17 outcomes on biodiversity finance, monitoring, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, technical cooperation, and the climate-biodiversity nexus can factor into regional priorities for the ASEAN Biodiversity Plan and ASEAN-Germany cooperation under the 2023-2027 Plan of Action.
It will also highlight the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity’s regional leadership, Germany’s long-standing support for biodiversity in ASEAN, and emerging biocultural approaches that integrate biological and cultural diversity to generate transformative insights for entwined social and natural systems.
The event will be keynoted by Jerome Montemayor, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, and features a multi-disciplinary panel bringing together experts in Germany from science, policy, and practice.
We look forward to welcoming you as we shape actionable pathways for stronger biodiversity cooperation for climate resilience in the Indo-Pacific.
